Roy Sanchez 9’ Slipstream Twinzer Vendor: The Surfboard Rack The long fish of the past twenty years have been a great addition for all surfers quivers. The one common thing almost all were lacking wasn’t speed, it was turning radius. Fast and staying on line was one of the main characteristics that was good, not great. Then came Skip Fryes “Nozzle” in 2015/16. The design took the proven Fish-Simmons outline and widened it all around. The Simmons hip helped cure all that was not there for the long fish designs of old. Now we have a board that catches waves with ease, is stable, loose and fast. This design is the missing link. Roy liked the idea of Skips design but wanted to change a few things to make it a little more user friendly. First he added a more modern rail contour that is a bit more forgiving and geared toward performance. He then blended the deep single concave and added the twinzer option for another added layer to this board. The result came out fantastic. The Slip Steam is made as a daily driver from 2’-10’ conditions. A 300 day a year board that can do anything and everything most surfers want at beaches, reefs and points.
