His original boards from this period are some of the most coveted by board collectors world wide. His masterful outlines and curves paired with boxy downrails and custom made single fin were the finest in the world at this time. I spoke with Tom and he corrected the owners earlier estimate that this boards was from 71/72- he said this one is more likely from 1974/75 around the time he joined forces with Bolt Hawaii and made some iconic boards along side Gerry Lopez, Rory Russel, Bk, Reno and a host of other legends that all worked under the Bolt Icon. Parrish slipped off the radar during the the 1980s and by the 1990s, he was all but forgotten by the mass media. But he was still shaping and making boards for people who could find him. He’s had a resurgence in popularity with the internet, social media and surfers who collect these sacred craft.
