Owner/Shaper/Glasser Lugo Cota, a San Diego native, began cultivating his craft when he received his first blank as a surprise engagement present from his wife. At the time, he had no shop or place to work other than a small stretch of overgrown side yard. He quickly discovered that the art of hand shaping and resin wizardry are fraught with peril and has been fortunate to meet and learn from talented friends in the industry through working at various shops in San Diego. Lugo would never say he is obsessed with everything surfing related, but then again neither would any of the other surfers out there who mind surf their way through traffic, or check Surfline to see if the swell miraculously changed in the last half hour, or can't resist "feelin' up some freshies" at the local board shop.
